Cloud Migration DBA with Oracle

We’re looking for a Cloud Migration DBA with hands-on experience in Oracle. This person acts as a trusted customer advocate, helps organizations to understand and implement best practices around data base migration solutions and have the opportunity to help shape and execute strategies for complex migration projects and broad adoption of Cloudism’s migration methodology, processes & tools.

Responsibilities:

• Provides expert level support with respect to database administration (backup/recovery, installation & patching, upgrades etc.) in Oracle DB
• Supports, maintains and troubleshoots Oracle RAC environments. Tunes and troubleshoots database performances issues.
• Must be able to leverage AWS Services in support of moving on premise databases into a AWS cloud. Able to clone, migrate databases as needed
• Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, standard methodologies, project management and risk mitigation
• Work closely with AWS Platform Service Engineering and Architecture teams to help ensure the success of project consulting engagements with customer
• Work directly with customers’ technical resources to devise and recommend solutions based on the understood requirements
• Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
• Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that shall help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation
• Work with multiple development teams to migrate their database to AWS. This may include, but is not limited to Re-Host/Lift and Sift database platform on AWS, Upgrade/Optimize for AWS, Re-Factor to open source database platform on AWS
• Consult for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Oracle
• Minimum 3 years of experience with migrating mission critical database environments from one platform to another
• Minimum 5 years of experience AWS Platforms and Service
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Shell/Perl/Python Scripting
• Knowledge of replication technologies such as Oracle GoldenGate, Amazon Database Migration Service, or similar
• Experience with mission critical databases across multiple database platforms
• Experience with TCP/IP Networking
